CALLOUTS AND TERMS & CONDITIONS
Key Considerations When Working with Herbal Dyed or Printed Fabrics
Natural liquid soap or neutral detergent (usually used for wool and silk) is to be used. If powder is used, dilute it in liquid form. If a washing machine is used, the gentle cycle is recommended for washing.
Dark Colors like red, blue, maroon, black etc. may bleed for 1-2 washes.
Fresh Indigo blue dyed articles, if stored for a long period, should be kept covered with dark-colored fabrics and away from light, since they are light-sensitive. They may develop yellow fold marks due to ozone exposure. This problem can be avoided if the fabric is given 3-4 washes prior to garment production or usage.
The colors yellow, olive and indigo are sensitive to direct sunlight. Yellows and blues are not recommended for exteriors such as curtains, as they have poor light fastness.
All colors except blue, white and some pastel shades are highly sensitive to citric content or lemon; care should be taken accordingly.
It is recommended to wash the fabric before use, as some unabsorbed or unattached dyes may leave marks (especially in reds, blues, maroons, blacks, etc.).
Care should be taken when two different colored fabrics are used to make one product. Test small samples by washing them together to check if they bleed onto each other. Using similar tones is recommended.
It is recommended to test the sample before placing production orders and to understand their characteristics in your environment and water, as these are completely natural products unlike any chemically dyed textiles.
If the cloth is partially submerged in water or if water is spilled and subsequently dries, watermarks may appear. Always dip the whole fabric or garment in water when washing.
Wash instructions: Room temperature / Mild Machine Cycle / Neutral Soap / Dry in Shade / No Rubbing / Avoid Citric Content.
Color variations in hand sampling or from batch to batch are expected, please refer to the shade variation chart.
Color change may occur depending on the pH value of the soap used. Alkali washes will make colors redder and darker.
Color change after washing is natural soap/ detergent and depends on the type of detergent used. The natural colors may fade one or two shades lighter over several washes. However, they fade beautifully and can still be worn as lighter shades.
Dry cleaning can be done on most dyed fabrics and garments.
Steam ironing is prohibited. Do not use water while ironing the fabrics.
Fabrics should not be exposed to direct light if folded and stored for prolonged periods, as discoloration may occur.
For jobwork orders, shrinkage of 7-10% in greige fabrics should be considered (it may vary depending on the fabric).
For jobwork orders, the ideal fabric to be sent to us is RFD (Ready for Dyeing) without the use of any optical brighteners.
Shade variation from quality to quality and batch to batch should be acceptable as per herbal parameters.
Before taking fabric into production, please carry out all your required tests thoroughly. Complaints, if any, must be submitted via email within 7-10 days of receiving the fabric. True Tone Ink will not be responsible thereafter.
All sales are final. Once a purchase is made, returns or refunds will not be accepted under any circumstances.
By placing a final order, it is understood that you have acknowledged and accepted the natural dye characteristics and callouts communicated to you via email or verbal discussion prior to confirmation.

WASHCARE
WASH FASTNESS
WASHING LABEL / FASTESS PARAMETERS
Scale Note: The fastness rating is based on a scale from 1 to 5, where 1 indicates the minimum and 5 indicates the maximum fastness level.
*Note: In case of Pigment, vat, or natural dyes, Dry-3 and Wet-2 may be accepted for rubbing. The results above are based on tests conducted at Texlab, Ahmedabad. We recommend that clients conduct their own independent testing. FASTNESS VARIES ACROSS DIFFERENT NATURAL FABRICS—highest in silk and wool, followed by cotton. With regular use, yarn-dyed fabrics show the highest fastness, followed by Prints, and then plain-dyed fabrics. Conditions apply to all of the above.
